Riverside

Sitting by the riverside
Makes me ponder
What a world we live in
Shaped by
Where we go
Our mystic river of
Chance
Sitting by the riverside
Makes me ponder
The ironic twist
We catch glimpses of
As we follow the line
We believe to be real
Our mystic river of
Chance

Snow Ghosts
05:27
|
|||
The storm has come and brought with it the cold
In the dead of winter, the quiet comes alive
In this hilltop cabin where I sit patiently
The window is frosted in patterns of leaves
Without a word, frozen in time,
Melting down into closed eyes
Underneath electric winter skies
The wind plays in patterns in the fields nearby...
The north wind blows the snow ghosts all around
The cold wind cleans all the cobwebs from my head
Snow ghosts dancing up the hillside
The cold wind cleans all the cobwebs from my head

Being on the Road
03:36
|
|||
All of these years with you
Our favorite thing to do
Is grab a coffee and go
And get out on the road
Play all our singing songs
Watch the landscape rollin’ on
Places new, places with you
There are so many things still to do...
To get out of the city
And get out on the road
To get out of the city
And get out on the road
The thunder of the wheels rolling on
Reminds me that I’m gone
Somewhere with you
Anywhere we choose
Off to a mountaintop
Or anyplace we pick to stop
Rollin’ on the road
There is always always always farther to go
To get out of the city
And get out on the road
To get out of the city
And get out on the road
See the northern lights from the prairies
Or sunrise from Gaspé
Caught a wave in Tofino
Drove all night singing songs

The Well
06:21
|
|||
The well is open,
Fill it until it overflows
Build it up,
Infuse it with all you have
Stuff it full,
Of anything you can offer
Then let it be consumed
Drunken by all,
Reaped for everything it has
Emptied
By anyone who dares
Then let it be consumed
Only to be refilled
Again and again
The cycle repeats endlessly
The well is open,
Fill it until it overflows
Build it up,
Infuse it with all you have
Until it cannot refill anymore
Until its walls have collapsed into itself
Then let it be consumed...

A Thousand Voices
04:30
|
|||
Walking close to the shore,
People come here all the time
It's just out of the city
The miles don't mean a thing
Changing perspectives meet the tide,
The water speaks a thousand tongues
A place to recognize
All the patterns in our lives
These moments mean everything!!
Turn my head,
Look around,
Heard a thousand voices;
Sounded like the colors of the setting sun...
I came out to the shore
To walk with the sands between my toes
I watched the birds sail the breeze
And the universe made sense
The melody of the moment
Seemed to guide my sense of peace
Pronouncing each detail
Like a lost memory returned...
These moments mean everything!!
Turn my head,
Look around,
Heard a thousand voices;
Sounded like the colors of the setting sun...

Dusty Road
04:32
|
|||
Dusty Road,
Lonely site,
Working crew’s gone home for the night.
Fateful day,
Step away,
From a world that swallows everything in sight;
Got your boots,
Need the pay,
They rope you in for one more day
Till you learn the trade and take on the stress -
I hope you’ve chosen where the money’s best
This is the moment where you choose
What is important to you
Freedom has many faces
Hammer rings,
The stone is shaped,
The wall is built by sweat alone
Hands hoisting,
Shovels turning,
It all comes together one by one
Has to be done...
No one else can see what you need to be;
Each man alone carves his path.
There is something you will see
When you figure out how to be;
Never let your dreams go by...
Freedom has many faces;
This Dusty Road

Into the Silence
06:24
|
|||
Fireflies,
And a willow tree
...in this day of suspended time!!
Little flashes of light,
Just part of the sights
...washing the city from our souls!!
Barn on the hill,
Climbing the trees
... these sunny rolling fields!!
Under the stars,
Firelight on your face
...it seems too good to me!!
Disappear into the silence
of this day so new and familiar
Walk the path of this garden
Disappear into the sun
Into the silence of the places we once knew
Step by step we walk beyond what we have imagined
Disappear into the silence
of this day so new and familiar
Walk the path of this garden
Disappear into the sun
Into the silence...
You find it in your heart
This place where it all began,
You knew it from the start....

Highway 101
03:57
|
|||
I can tell you that it’s true
A road that has places that come along with you
As you travel long and far
Everywhere you are
You hear stories
Of many who’ve come before
Cast their spell
Traveled well
And left their tale to tell
At the hotel at the end of Highway 101
Where we leave our tales to tell....
Years ago I know,
There was a dream that swept the land;
Come here, come now
Make a better stand.
From the east over the divide
From the west by oceans tide
They settled in the south where the warmth was healing
And the north where the rain kept them dreaming…
We are the words being written on the sand
From where our hand draws the magic of the land
At the hotel at the end of Highway 101
Where we leave our tales to tell....
101 becomes the one
And the sun just comes to shine
And the people take their time
When you listen to what they speak
Visions of calm intensity drift from
Their symbol of the road
Winding along the sea
And through the breeze of borrowed time
Balancing the curves
And currents of the mind
At the hotel at the end of time
At the hotel at the end of Highway 101
Where we leave our tales to tell....

26th Hymn
05:30
|
|||
Into your confused
Vision filled with haze
Work your way out
Of your own maze
And see the universe before you,
Living and now
It is truly not a question of how
It is dance of things,
Both ancient and new
Of things long gone,
And things still to do
Like a flower that will wilt
In some coming hour
Like a streaking light
In a meteor shower
There are things that come and go
But like the universe and time itself
There will be some that will always know
So come on down and follow the road
To the bend where even time has slowed
Like a flower that will wilt
In some coming hour
Like a streaking light in a meteor shower
It is there that you will find
It is there that you will smile
And begin your climb
To the lost archives of your mind
So come on down and follow the road
To the bend where even time has slowed

Such a change, drivin’ in out of the darkness
To the sepia glow of the city at 4AM
Cars racing around, people with many things to do
At all hours of the night, the city never sleeps, maybe quiets into a lucid dream
We keep rollin...
We keep rollin...
Such a change, drivin out to the countryside
The malls end, and the landscape opens up
A thousand leaves drift across the highway
Reminding me that everything has its time
This road is like a river, going all around the world...
We keep rollin...
We keep rollin...
This road is like a river, going all around the world....

Looks at the World
05:17
|
|||
Tell me a story...
That makes me
Look at the world
With fresh open eyes
Where the wind is blowing
Across the grass
And the clouds in the mountain pass
Makes me feel like the first time I saw such things
Makes me feel like I’ve opened my eyes
Tell me a story...
I know there's a way
To look at the world
Like it's the first time I saw such things
Where it feels like I’ve opened my eyes
That magic in the moment
That mystical place
And everything is glazed
In the hue of the numinous...
Look at the world
And tell me a story, tell me a story...

From far and wide
From many a different side
We came to catch a ride
So we took a boat all together
To a place of our dreams
Where nothing is as it seems
And where all emptiness somehow gleams
It was growing everywhere
In all shapes and all kinds...
Once we were there we set up
Our way of life
In this place of gleaming emptiness
We danced every night
And within our place a peace now grew
So now there was a circle of truth
And it lived not just in our minds
It was growing everywhere
It was growing everywhere
in all shapes and all kinds...
It grew on trees and showered in the sky
Swam in waters and knew how to fly
It was growing everywhere
In all shapes and all kinds

Intangibles
05:23
|
|||
A feeling that escapes description,
Powerful beyond submission
Another universe,
Might be the first...
A place like nowhere before,
Under another sun
The world’s just begun,
Open your eyes
Intangibles, dreaming of
Intangibles, believing in,
Intangibles....
A feeling that escapes description...
The Story goes goes beyond today,
Woven in words the tale it stays
Over the ages told again and again,
Sweeter than even when it began
Like a sun lighting universes lives away,
And we feel it just like it’s today
Intangibles, dreaming of
Intangibles, believing in,
Intangibles....
You gave your love to me,
Your loyalty, your creativity...
And now it’s planted down inside,
Like an old lullaby.
I’d take you with me through other worlds,
You are the one who is like no other girl
Among the stars in the night we’ll fly,
So we never have to say goodbye...
Intangibles, dreaming of
Intangibles, believing in,
Intangibles....
A feeling that escapes description,
Like an old lullaby.....
